Dream Time

Learners have dedicated time each week to explore their passions or interests and pursue answers to their own questions and curiousities.

Circle Time & Crew (formerly "Community Time")

​Circle Time (M & F) or Crew (TWTh) occurs in the morning and at the end of each school day.  Both allow learners opportunities to build positive connections with peers and adults. Circle Time & Crew support relationship building and social-emotional learning. Learners are able to build their self-awareness through social-emotional learning and academic progress monitoring. 

Multi-Grade Cohorts

Multi-grade cohorts and classrooms provide opportunity to nurture meaningful relationships, accomodate the stages of development, and provide a coherent learning experience over multiple years. 
Sub-cohort structure may change in a given year depending on enrollment makeup for that year. 

Customized Learning Plans

Specially designed with each learner and their families. Learners track progress on academic, social-emotional learning, and dreamer goals. The purpose of CLPs is to engage learners in collaborative goal setting.

Customized learning at I Dream PCS is driven by real-world connection to individual and collective interests, passions, curiosities, and dreams.  Learners produce meaningful and relevant work for authentic audiences in the school and broader community.

Collaboration

Everyone is responsible for learning and problem-solving at I Dream PCS. We explore, play, and investigate together.  We share ideas, challenge each other, and make compromises.  We listen for understanding and step up or step back as needed.

Equity

Everyone has voice and choice at I Dream PCS.  We celebrate the unique differences and shared experiences of our community and actively seek opportunities to interrupt bias, prejudice, and stereotypes from getting in the way of access to resources and success for all.
